It Finally Cooled Down

Well I am happy to report that it is no longer blistering hot here. It was actually cool enough for me to bake cookies and cinnamon buns today. I am so happy that its nice and cool....FINALLY.

On the down side my little man isn't feeling very well. I think he is getting some teeth and he also has an upset tummy, he can't keep very much down. But I am sure it will pass soon. At least I hope so. I got my latest homework assignment back and I got 100% on it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yaaaaa for me.

I also got my spare room and bedroom cleaned, not all I have to do is vacuum and everything is clean except my dishes, but they will only take a minute or two, and my laundry but i am never ahead on that...lol I guess that's what happens when you have a kid who needs a new outfit everytime he comes in from outside...lol

Wes just left to go and pick up my brother, they should be back tomorrow afternoon sometime. The road conditions are supposed to be really good so I hope that everything goes smoothly. Wes is a really good driver so I'm not that worried about it. I'm sure that Rayne will talk to Wes so much he will be glad when they get back here. Rayne talks so much that after a while it starts to drive you up the wall, but he can't help it he just gets so excited about some things that he goes on and on and on and on.....lol you get the point.

The parade is tommorw night, I am going to take Brandon and Rayne if he is here by then. If not i guess Brandon and I will go alone. Then on Saturday we are going to go to the Dude's in Dirt thing. All I know about that is they have dirt big machines and I think they demonstate how they all work and then the kids get to play in the dirt. I think they also get a hard hat, it's plastic but they like it, I'm not sure how long Brandon will keep his on, he hates hats.

But I am going to go and do my dishes and what not. Talk to you all later!!!!

Top Things I Have Learned About Being A Mom

In the last two years I have learned a lot about being a mom from my son, my top faves are as follows....

No matter how hard you try to clean up the canola oil off your floor it will leave a permanent shiny slippery spot on your laminate floor.

permanent Maker does eventually come off the wall with enough scrubbing

Even when you think you have found all of the Uno Cards there are still more to be found

Spilled milkshake makes your car smell REALLY BAD

Never leave the back window in the car rolled down enough for anything to fit through it

A cereal bowl will bounce twice before if breaks.

Contrary to popular belief the dog will snap and growl at you if you poke him with a screw driver

My Electric fireplace and new oven both have heat resistant glass that he can't burn his hand on if he holds it there for too long

Never startle the baby when he is standing on something he's not supposed to be...This will cause him to scare and fall giving him self one heck of a goose egg on his noggin.

If you have enough keys and key chains on your set they will not flush down the toilet.

Speaking of toilets.....Only two sheets will fit in the toilet at a time, and they also do not flush.

No matter how well you think you have fixed something, he will show you it can still be broken

A fan can shoot a piece of lego a long ways.

The dog also does not like it when you try to ride him...Neither does the cat.

When you lose your keys 9 times outta 10 they are at the bottom of the toy box, it is only when you are late for an appointment that they will not be there.

If you drop a heat vent enough times it eventually breaks in half.

No matter how many times you clean the finger prints off the t.v in a day, there will still be some there at the end of the day.

It really hurts when you try and climb up your dresser and it falls on you.

It feels REALLY, REALLY gross when you step on a hot dog.

If you throw a juice box with enough force it will explode and splatter all over the walls and floor.

And the last one I can think of off the top of my head is this:

In the end when it's all said and done its worth it.

Well guys that's all for now. Talk to you Later!!! ;)

I'm Moving To Siberia

urgh.....I can't stand this heat. I just want to crawl under my house and die!!! But seriously, it is so darn hot here. I have no tolerence when it comes to heat....I would rather be cold than to hot. It's like +33 degrees celcius here,( I'm not sure what that is for you Lance, but it's friggin hot here. I wish I could just pack up and move to Siberia where it isn't this hot, at least I don't think it is, and if it is, I will think of somehere else to move...lol. All in all we had a pretty uneventful weekend just hung out a home mostly.
Yesterday, we had a couple people over and Brandon and the other kids played outside for like four hours, he came in the house and I came to see what he was doing, and he was standing beside my bed with his head on it......It was soooo cute!!! I asked him if it was time for a nap and he went straight to his bed and waited for me to come to him and give him his water....He was so tuckered out the poor little guy spent 3 hours snoozing. It was great. He had so much fun playing in his pool and with all his toys.

I'm happy that he had such a good day yesterday, he got a good dark tan too. He was still pretty tuckered out this morning after he had his afternoon nap he was the little terror we all know and love. lol
Today we just hung around the house and wished that this heat would just go away, why can't it rain or be cooler here....well tommorrow we are supposed to have some thunder showers tommorrow so hopefuly that will cool everything down and not make it muggy.
My youngest brother might come up next week for a week or so. That will be nice, we haven't spent much time together since last summer when he came up, when ever we are down there we have so many people to see we don't get really much time to hang out with him, so it will be nice if he comes up here.
But I do have homework to get done. Talk to you all later!!! ;)

2006 * 06 *25

Well my weekend so far has consisted of me and a friend of mine, Jody, cleaning my house and yard. So far everything is going good, my living room, kitchen, dining room, bathroom and some of my walls and my patio table and BBQ done. Now how ever, I do have one problem with Jody helping me, she tried to clean my bathroom. Now this you may all think is no bog deal, but to me it is. I am very particular about my bathroom. It has to be cleaned ABSOLUTLY right, when my countertop is cleaned everything has to be put back in the exact spot it was taken from. I have a system in there and I don't like it being messed with.lol. Now any where else in my house it's like what ever, as long as it goes back in the same general area its all good, but please for the love of all that is.....Do not touch my bathroom. lol I guess everyone has their room(s) in thier own house that they are very particular about, strange as it may seem mine is the bathroom, and for obvious reasons, my bedroom.
But any how on to other topics, Stan called like a million times after my last post and finally he called when Wes was home and he has hopefully put a stop to that crap. Other than that not a whole lot is new in the world of me. My house is virtually spotless except for the toy room I dumped the toy box in, I guess now we play the waiting game to see how long that lasts. With my little terror I don't imagine it will be long. LOL.
Wow I can't believe I wrote so much about my bathroom.....Wow you guys probaly all think I'm such a freak...lol.
Talk to you later.

Not This Time

You know who I hate? I hate people!!! Well most of them anyways. I mean they treat you like crap and then a few months down the road they call you up and they are just like "hey what's up how's life?" What gives him the right to even bother me after the way he treated me!?!?
This crap is really starting to get on my nerves. It's like, ya ok I am going to use Lily and fill her head with a bunch of crap and hopefully she will forget about everything that I have done to her in the past. And then to top it all off I am going to totally ignore her for the next four and a half frickin months and then one day outta the blue I am going to call her and act like nothing is wrong and see if I can lure her in so I can put her through even more crap.
well sorry you frickin jerk I am not going to fall for your crap EVER again, and this may come as a shock but the last four and a half months have been just fine without you and I am more than certain I can make it for the rest of my life knowing what a huge mistake I am no longer making. GRRRR

Any ways sorry guys I just needed to get that out.

New In The World Of Me

Well today is Wednesday, half way through the week and it seems like it should be over already. I have so much to do this week and it seems like nothing on my to do list is getting done. Everytime I get something done it seems like I have to add two more things to the list. I am finally getting my huge stack of laundry done and I can finally see the floor in there...sweet...no just kidding it wasn't that bad, but almost...lol I hate doing laundry!! It is so time consuming and what not.....you know what I am going to invent.....disposable laundry. Wouldn't that be cool or what?!?! it wouldn't need any care or cleaning you just take it out of the package, put it on and at the end of the day throw it out. And it would of course be affordable so everyone could use it not just those who could afford it...now wouldn't that be sweet??? I think so.....lol
I am so bored of my homework, its not even challenging or anything I hate it when I am not mentally challenged by what I am working on, it's not interesting and I just get bored with it and dread doing it.
What else is new....hmmm...I have to go to the doctor on Monday, he is going to reffer me to who ever it is that he has to for me to get allergy tests done so we can be certian of what it was that caused me to have such a bad reaction when I was down at my dads. I can't wait to get it over with so I know exactly what it was that did that to me, but at the same time I am dreading going because I know it will involve needles, and I hate needles..ALOT....if you don't believe me aak Mander, I made her come into the dentist room with me and hold my hand when he wanted to put a needle in my mouth, she still has the scar on her hand to prove it.....I was crying and freaking out and everything, I hate needles that much. I am sure that if they try and stick needles in me on Monday, the reaction they get from me won't be any different than the one the dentist got.
Ya, I know, I'm a big cry baby. But hey, that can be easily fixed by getting rid of all the needles on the planet and I will be happy. LOL
In other news.... regardless of the loss on Monday night, Edmonton is still gearing up to give the Oilers a party for the efforts and what not...isn't that cool or what.
OH I know what else is new........I rented two movies today, they are supposed to be good, I hope so cause I think she over charged me for them. I am pretty sure that it is only like 5 bucks for a movie and I paid 14 something for two of them....But any way the ones I rented are 16 Blocks and Syriana.
But that's all thats new in the world of me. Talk to you later!!!!

Game 7

Well I hate to say it but the Oilers lost. They scored early in the 1st period and their second goal actually came as a result as the puck rebounded off one of thier own players butts!!and the third goal was scored in the third period on an empty net, as in a last minute attempt to tie the game at 2 the Oil pulled thier goalie for an extra man on the ice.
All in all considering Carolina won the cup it was a very well played game by Carolina, the Oilers never actually found their game until the third period, and by then I think almost everyone had given up hope on the Cup coming back to Edmonton anyway, I know that everyone at my house had lost all hope and faith that we would win. I think the thing that I am most upset with is that it seemed like the Oilers pretty much gave them the Cup. Sure they tried and everything but I have seen them play much better games, it was like they were like Whatever.
However Carolina did play very well they stepped up their game a lot more than people expected. They played much better than they did on Saturday night. Congratulations guys!!

The Oilers Beat Out Hurricanes 4-0

So here we are at the end of game six in the playoffs to bring Stanley home. Edmonton played a very good game tonight ending the game with a score of 4 nothing. Home town hero Fernando Pisani scored the first goal of the game during a power play, he then assisted Torres on the second one and the third goal was scored by Ryan Smyth and the final goal of the game was scored by Shawn Horcoff. The Oilers showed Carolina what they were made out of tonight and what to expect in game 7 on Monday night at the RBC coliseum in Carolina.
I noticed that the Hurricanes weren't taking very many shots on goal tonight with the Oilers out shooting them in all three periods of the game. You could tell by looking at the players for Carolina that they were tired, if they want this cup as badly as we do then they are going to have to pick up their game and play like they mean it.
Now as some of you may be able to recall there are only four teams in NHL history that have been able to come back from behind with a 3-1 series score and force a seventh game , it takes one heck of a team to do something like this, as you are well aware. In case you were wondering the 3 teams that have been able to come back trailing by that much are The Montreal Canadiens, in 1954, the Philadelphia Flyers, in 1987, the Vancouver Canucks, in 1994 and the only team to come from behind trailing that badly to actually force a seventh game AND win the cup was the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1942 against the Detroit Red Wings.
For all we know this could be another land mark in the History of the NHL. Now as a few of you may also recall Edmonton has been a hockey club for less than 30 years and have brought Stanley home to us five times in that short time. Now granted there was an Edmonton team they just weren't called the Oilers. If you go through the history of it all Edmonton had quite a few different names before settling down with the Oilers. As well as when you go through the history you can see that the first recorded hockey game played in Alberta was on January 4, 1893. One name I never expected to find on the list of Edmonton's previous hockey name list was, believe it or not, the Edmonton Eskimos, which many of you know is our football team.
The first time Edmonton won the Stanley Cup was in 1984 against the New York Islanders, and the next year they beat out the Philadelphia Flyers for their second consecutive win of The Cup, a few years passed and they beat out the Flyers again for the Cup in 1987, as if that wasn't enough they won the Cup against the Boston Bruins in 1988 for another two in a row record. The last time the Oilers won the Cup was in 1990 in Game 5 at the Boston Garden, it was also the first time they won the Cup away from home. If they win on Monday night it will be the second time they have won the Cup in an away game. From 1990 -1997 the Oilers never won a playoff series until they beat the Dallas Stars in 1997, also in 1997 they were seized by the ATB due to financial problems of their owner Peter Pocklington, they avoided a potential move to Huston by The Edmonton Investors' Group. Those are just a few facts about the Oilers I thought I would share with you. But since I am sure you really don't want to hear anymore about Hockey I will let you go back to doing what ever it was you were doing before you decided to come and see if I had anything interested to say. Stay tuned for more on The Stanley Cup Playoffs of 2006.

Canucks Vs. Yankees

As I was watching the evening news tonight on Global Edmonton I became very enraged at what some Americans have been saying about The City of Champions.
A few of the things mentioned were a reporter from down there was in Edmonton doing some coverage on the Stanley Cup Play offs and he was whinning about, well come to think of it I don't think there was anything he didn't whine about so I am here to set a few things straight.

  1. There are no freeways in Edmonton to allow easy access to Rexall Place. Well for Starters; Rexall place is one of the oldest coliseums as of today. And further more instead of touring around and complaining about how crowded our streets are, why don't you take Gretzky Drive or The Yellowhead Trail you can get to almost any where in the city from there abouts. And if you really want to whine and complain about how bad our coliseum is then why don't you shut your trap and donate the 250 million dollars that it is estimated the new one will cost to build.
  2. My next beef is with a hockey magazine that will hit the shelfs Tuesday. I can not recall what it is called off the top of my head, but when I remember I will be sure to let you know. Their cover page is entitled 'Canes take the cup. Now call me old fashioned and what you will but the playoffs aren't even over yet and this seems a bit premature if you ask me. Well to the people who published this thank you so much because you just put a hex on your team by doing this.
  3. And my final and biggest beef with this whole situation goes back to that arrogant reporter I told you about, its the weather. He was complaining about how it was cold here. Now come on seriously who in thier right mind comes to Canada of all places to be warm?!?!?! If you want hot tropical weather and not to be cold then either a) come during the summer and not our so called spring, and b) go to mexico or the tropics you are kidding yourself if you come to Canada this early in the year and expect it to be smoldering hot.Now granted there are are few places in Canada that are warm this time of year but Edmonton is not one of them.

But that is all I have to say about this right now I have to go and help out a friend. To my readers who are American...this is by no means anything personal directed towards all Americans it has to do with a small selection of people and they are 1) the reporter mentioned and 2) the magazine company who is getting ahead of themselves.

Correction

As per my pervious post about the Oilers fever spreading through out Albertans like wild fire, I should have said Canadians, as they are the only Canadian team in the play offs.

Feeling Much Better

Well I am feeling much better now, all of my perscription is gone so hopefully I am not going to have to go back for more. I am so glad to be feeling more like myself. Well I have actually logged on here to write a blog about believe it or not......hockey. Ya I know I am the last person on earth who could care less about this game, but to be honest with you I think that I may have caught a little bit of the Oilers Fever that is spreading through Albertans like wildfire through out the entire province. Almost everyone you talk to has something to say when it comes to the Stanley Cup Playoffs. And with that being said here is my two cents....well maybe a little more than two cents but you get the point. lol.

Well everyone around here seems to have Oilers Fever around here. Everyone is getting really excited with only two games to go. The Oilers have only two games left in the season and to win the Stanley Cup they must win both of them. With the Hurricanes putting up a pretty good fight for the Stanley Cup I think that Edmonton might have to pick it up a bit to pull through for all of their loyal fans. I know they will give it their all because winning the Cup is every teams dream.

Now I could Personally care less who wins and who doesn't I am not much of a hockey person myself, but all things considered, Edmonton is my home team and they have worked hard to get here and they deserve to win. I know that local merchants have been making a killing off Oilers merchadize. Every where you look some one is either wearing a jersey, ( and I have to give these people credit with the heat we have going on up here), One lady down the street from me even has an Oilers garbage can, and there are flags, lighters, window posters, ect. every where. Oilers Fever has set in and there are post game parties to celebrate how well the Oilers played, I don't remember when the last time I seen an entire province hyped up over one team in this game. Good Luck boys, we all know that you will make us proud

Well...Here I am again after a long weekend aways from home. It was alright I guess. Got some new stuff for my house and seen my neices. Holy cow they are getting big. Wes and I were going to go see a movie while we were down in Edmonton on Friday night but we never made it because I had to go to the hospital due to a really bad allergic reaction, and we ended up being there for 3 hours waiting for the IV to finish. Not the best way I can think of to spend my Friday night, but oh well right, at least everything is better and I feel normal again.
I have a lot to do around my house I just figured that I would come and see how everybody's weekend was.

Everything's Looking Good

So here we are not even half way through Wes's vacation and pretty much everything we set out to do is done. My old boss asked me if I would come and help her out for a few days this week so someone could help her with the store....man am I sorry I said yes. I forgot how much there was to do around there when there is no reliable staff. I feel so bad for her cause it seems like everyone she hires shows up the first day and that's it. And it really puzzles me cause she is really great to work for and trust me I know I worked there for quite a while to help her out and now i think all she has is a couple part time people and one full time.
Moving on, the weather is crapy. It has rained for the last few days. It is finally sunny tonight and from what the weather people say it is supposed to stay this way....But we all know how accurate they are....
I took Brandon to a friends house to play and he had so much fun. When it was time to come home he didn't want to leave. It was so cool, he would run to the slide cimb up it and then slide down and run over to us all excited and then run back and do it all again. It was cute. I was supposed to take him to the Jack and Jill thing again today, but by the time he woke up, and ate breakfast it was pretty much over and I didn't think there would be much of a point in taking him for only a half and hour. Oh well at least he had fun at his friends house.
Other than that life in High Level is kind of dull. Well for me anyways. There isn't a whole lot to do really unless you are a raging alcoholic. And even then if I were I would be scared to go out to the bar by myslef cause I have heard that the natives try and gang up on the white people who actually go out....that's what I hear anyway...and quite frankly I have no problems admiting that I am to frightened to go out and find out if it is true for my self.
In other news tonight....I always wanted to say that....We looked at another place today on the other side of town....It was beautiful!!!!It had laminate flooring through out, new appliances, three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It was just beautiful!!! It was smaller than the one we have but worth far more i think. The thing I liked most about it was there was litterally no work to be done on it. Unlike the one I own right now...lol. But someone's gotta do it right. And besides if I do the work needed on this one I can sell it for more than I bought it for considering it had no living room floor and needed new piping, and new shingles on the roof. If we can get financed for the mortgage I think it is safe to say that will be our new investment. And then we can rent this place out until all of the upgrades needed/wanted are complete and then sell it and make some money off of it. but that's all for now guys. Talk to you later.

Blast From the Past

Well I finally got a hold of the tech guys who have my laptop and the good news is that everything will be covered under warranty!!! Ya for me. the bad news is that i won't get it back for a couple of weeks....which means I am stuck on this desktop until it comes back and my schooling has been extened due to the fact that all the programs I need to do my homework are on my laptop.grrrr
On the upside I got 2 cool phone calls today. The first one was from a friend who I haven't talked to for like three years. It was cool to hear from him again. And the second one was from a friend of mine here in town inviting little man and I to this thing they are having Saturday at one of the parks. Its a play thing for kids of all ages and hopefully little man has fun....I have a couple of friends that are going to it so at least we will both know someone...Wes is coming with us too, so little man will like that. Today is his last day at work and then he is on vacation, that will be good for the two of them to spend that time together.
Well on yet another upside, I actually got 4 and a half hours of sleep last night and I feel much better than a few days ago. Now hopefully that keeps up cause when I get my laptop back I am going to need all the energy I can get to focus on homework and studying for my exams.
