Canucks Vs. Yankees

As I was watching the evening news tonight on Global Edmonton I became very enraged at what some Americans have been saying about The City of Champions.
A few of the things mentioned were a reporter from down there was in Edmonton doing some coverage on the Stanley Cup Play offs and he was whinning about, well come to think of it I don't think there was anything he didn't whine about so I am here to set a few things straight.

  1. There are no freeways in Edmonton to allow easy access to Rexall Place. Well for Starters; Rexall place is one of the oldest coliseums as of today. And further more instead of touring around and complaining about how crowded our streets are, why don't you take Gretzky Drive or The Yellowhead Trail you can get to almost any where in the city from there abouts. And if you really want to whine and complain about how bad our coliseum is then why don't you shut your trap and donate the 250 million dollars that it is estimated the new one will cost to build.
  2. My next beef is with a hockey magazine that will hit the shelfs Tuesday. I can not recall what it is called off the top of my head, but when I remember I will be sure to let you know. Their cover page is entitled 'Canes take the cup. Now call me old fashioned and what you will but the playoffs aren't even over yet and this seems a bit premature if you ask me. Well to the people who published this thank you so much because you just put a hex on your team by doing this.
  3. And my final and biggest beef with this whole situation goes back to that arrogant reporter I told you about, its the weather. He was complaining about how it was cold here. Now come on seriously who in thier right mind comes to Canada of all places to be warm?!?!?! If you want hot tropical weather and not to be cold then either a) come during the summer and not our so called spring, and b) go to mexico or the tropics you are kidding yourself if you come to Canada this early in the year and expect it to be smoldering hot.Now granted there are are few places in Canada that are warm this time of year but Edmonton is not one of them.

But that is all I have to say about this right now I have to go and help out a friend. To my readers who are American...this is by no means anything personal directed towards all Americans it has to do with a small selection of people and they are 1) the reporter mentioned and 2) the magazine company who is getting ahead of themselves.

Perhaps that reporter should have recalled that a lot of major sports franchises in America are located in little towns, too. Like the Green Bay Packers, for instance.

All cities are different and some are easier to navigate than others; regardless what country you are in.

I think that guy just wanted to use his forum to complain about something lol.

Oh well, perhaps the Oilers will win and then that will show him, huh?
